Live and Loose
By 1999 the band had become a “pretty darn good” live act. Through a series of successful charitable concerts at Pittsburgh’s renowned venue, Rosebud, the Businessmen had not only created a home base for their “Rock ‘n’ Roll with Purpose” performances, but also an extremely loyal fan following-one that continues to present day. Live-n-Loose captured the raw energy and spontaneity of those early shows. Recorded on location at Rosebud and mixed by Rick Gersak, this collection is pure fun and pure Businessmen. Mixing some of the band’s original material with a few familiar covers, the band delivered the goods and firmly established itself as a must-see entertainment experience. This live collection features a horn section (rounded out by guest trumpeter Vaughn Orange) that later developed into the famed “Down to Business Horns”.
Along with founding members John Vento, Bill Hibbert, Tim Hadley, John Collins, and Ken Joy, three new members–Brad Turner (keyboards, vocals, trombone), Dave Shutts (saxophone), and Jim McCullough (guitar) joined the family to create what was to become the longest running line-up in the history of the band.
